A record of sewn items donated to a local nursing home for activities with residents who may enjoy a little something extra in the way of stimulation, comfort or encouragement. Texture makes the difference. The challenge of adding tactile features makes quilting fun.
Palettes
This page will feature different color combinations that I find useful.
It will add to usual blue/orange, purple/yellow, red/green and eventually discuss tints and values as well as colors.
Every quilt needs some bright: Orange, Red or Purple. Brightest Yellow will work, too.
Kathy brought some brocade, possibly drapery material.
There is a green, a pale gold with orangeish flowers and a red and gold on a dull olive ground.
I auditioned them with various pieces of fabric. There are some wools that will work great.
The pillow covers in burgundy with the lace overlays will work with the red and gold piece.
Ribbons of all kinds auditioned. The ones that work best are non-primary colors, pales were good.
